I'm Oleg. Fifteen years in software engineering, most recently a principal engineer at Property Finder in Dubai, where my last year was spent on AI labor automation, teaching machines to do knowledge work.

In July 2026 I left, voluntarily. The primary reason is my kids: I want them prepared for real life, and real life is physical. Materials, procedures, work you can hold. So I work with my hands and let an AI assistant run the knowledge-work side of my life. It researches, negotiates, schedules, writes, tracks, and debugs. I show up in person, handle the materials, and pay cash.

I stay open to work as a software expert. Fifteen years did not evaporate; they are what makes the assistant setup work.

The projects documented here are real and running: parts designed and printed on my own machines, each mistake that gets through turned into a gate the same day; the public record at senku.im, where a build goes up while it is still ugly; and the household operations the assistant runs on private threads I answer from my phone.

The metal-casting lane this blog opened with is parked. That was my own call, and the reason is on senku.im too: too complex and dangerous to take on now. Nothing has been melted. The posts about it stay up because the sourcing work was real and the reasoning still holds, but the furnace day never came.

Underneath all of it is the tooling that makes an autonomous assistant trustworthy: disclosure rules, spending envelopes, action queues, honest exits.

The blog itself follows the same split: the AI drafts, I decide. If that division of labor sounds backwards to you, that's exactly why this blog exists.
